Kabs Primary School

New Kabs was opened in January 2010, under a name symbolic of Salango Kavulu, a late advocate for child education Uganda.  Salango was known in the area for feeding and paying the school fees of many children from destitute families.

This school is located in Kito Village, Kirinya Parish, just outside of the bustling city of Kampala.  It has two sections under the same management; a nursery section (with Baby, Middle, and Top classes) and the Primary section, hosting grades one through seven.  It currently accommodates 104 primary children with a goal to expand.

The school was started with an aim of helping the poor and abandoned children from nearby communities.  Recently we have started accepting such children from distant areas, as well as those who can afford to pay partial school fees.

This project is funded almost entirely by the initiators' limited income and local well wishers.  Considering the rising costs of living and school necessities, we find it hard to operate.  We also do not have enough structures fit for a successful school.  The structures are semi-finished and half-permanent.

Despite the many financial burdens, New Kabs Junior School has emerged as a primary school providing quality education to children in preparation for their future.  We ask for your continued prayers and support for this noble project, helping the pupils who are currently benefiting as well as those in the to come.

Sincerely,
Babi Kimera Godfrey
Head Teacher
