Our Projects

  • Buvuma Islands

Located ninety kilometers east of the capital city of Kampala, Buvuma district consists of more than fifty islands. This archipeligo is home to more than 110,832 people (UPHC, 2024), most of which live in small costal villages (shown below).  Most inhabitants trace their ancestry to the Baganda tribe, speaking the Abantu language of Luganda.

  • Kabs Primary School

New Kabs was opened in January 2010, under a name symbolic of Salango Kavulu, a late advocate for child education Uganda.  Salango was known in the area for feeding and paying the school fees of many children from destitute families.

  • Future Projects

Buvuma Office: Constructing a facillity on the islands is the next step for ADUA's outreach to these impoverished communities.  This will prove vital in limiting the costs of travel from the existing office on the mainland and allow the organization to have a more involved role in the island community.
